you deserve rest

About Humanitarian Yoga

Changing the world starts with healing yourself. Humanitarian Yoga offers a trauma-informed space for humanitarians and helping professionals to rest, breathe, and move - together.

Through yoga movement classes, supportive workshops, and workplace wellness initiatives, Humanitarian Yoga invites you to connect with your body and lean into the belief that you are worthy of rest.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Justine Jacob - Founder

As a trauma survivor, Justine is constantly brought back to the healing power of yoga and moving slowly. Her personal journey with PTSD and career burnout guides her work as a trauma-informed yoga teacher for humanitarians and helping professionals.

Justine works as an Emergency Manager for the U.S. Government's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) where she deploys to support disasters in California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

Prior to joining FEMA, Justine spent nearly a decade working in the humanitarian aid and development sector for local and international Non-Governmental Organizations and United Nations agencies in Cambodia, Jordan, Egypt, the West Bank, and New York City.

Justine speaks Arabic and volunteers with the Yoga Mandala Project to support sustainable yoga programs in refugee communities around the world.
